What vitamins are pregnant?

Women need vitamin B6, or pyridoxine. This is one of the most important vitamins for pregnant women. It is necessary for the synthesis of amino acids, of which, respectively, proteins are synthesized, representing the main "building material" of the human body. This vitamin also stimulates blood formation. In addition, it mitigates the manifestations of toxemia and has a sedative effect on the nervous system, which is very important, because one of the main side effects of pregnancy, which causes great problems for both the expectant mother and her relatives, is increased nervousness and irritability. Finally, vitamin B6 prevents the development of caries, which affects many pregnant women. For the unborn child, this vitamin is especially important because it contributes to the proper development of its brain and the entire nervous system. The need of a pregnant woman for this vitamin, compared with a woman who is not expecting a child, is about 30% more.
Also, a woman should take vitamin B9, or folic acid. This substance ensures the formation of placental tissues as well as blood vessels in the uterus. Therefore, a lack of vitamin B9 can lead to premature termination of pregnancy. In addition, folic acid is necessary for the normal development of the nervous system of the fetus, as well as for the process of cell regeneration in the maternal organism. During pregnancy, the need for vitamin B9 is approximately doubled.
It should be noted, and vitamin B12, or a group of cobalt-containing biologically active substances (cobalamins). It is especially important to provide the body with this vitamin in the first period of pregnancy, since its deficiency worsens the development of a fertilized egg and can lead to miscarriage.
Vitamin E or tocopherol is also available. This substance plays an important role in ensuring the proper metabolism, and also protects the mother and the unborn child from the effects of free radicals. However, it should be taken with caution, in no case exceeding the dose prescribed by the doctor, otherwise the risk of developing heart disease in the fetus increases.
