Simple and affordable dishes of green peas

Green pea is a plant that has been known to man since ancient times, several centuries ago it was actively grown in Rome, China and Greece, while people learned to cook really tasty and simple dishes from it, because in those times there was no complicated kitchen equipment .

Over time, it was noticed that the most delicious peas were green, and not fully ripe, which pushed humanity to create canned green peas.

By the way, it was the Dutch who were the first to think of preserving it, in our own land peas appeared in jars only in the times of the USSR, but in what amounts! It was then that everyone learned what Olivier and vinaigrette are, because even it is sometimes cooked with this tasty ingredient.

Today, green peas - this is the product that can be used in almost all versions of dishes: salads, soups, side dishes and even pastries. However, we rarely somehow experiment with this sweet and delicate vegetable, perhaps because we simply do not know what to cook from it, except for the standard soup or Russian salad.

In fact, there are many options, because it goes well with many main products, such as meat, potatoes, fish, eggs, asparagus, cheese and carrots.

It should be noted that peas are not only tasty, but also useful: in its composition it contains a record number of minerals, vitamins, as well as other substances that contribute to the normal functioning of the human body. How not to please yourself with such utility?

Contrary to popular belief, canned food is far from the most useful way to eat, with green peas things are different - thanks to special technologies that allow you to save almost all the nutritional components.

Unfortunately, it’s not long to eat fresh peas, but canned or frozen - it can please you with its delicate taste all year round! So, several options for simple and delicious dishes.

Recipe "Summer soup"

To prepare you will need:

  • fresh green peas - 1 cup;
  • fresh cucumbers - 3 pcs .;
  • chicken eggs - 2 pcs .;
  • homemade sour cream - 100 g;
  • Dill, parsley, spices to taste.

Boil eggs before boiling, let them cool, then peel off the shell. Boil the peas in 1.5 liters of water, add chopped eggs and spices to taste, cover with a lid and send to the oven for 20 minutes (medium heat, about 160 °). Before serving, cut cucumbers into rings in a soup, decorate everything with greens and add sour cream.

Recipe for "Pea soup cream"

To cook this dish, it is fashionable to use frozen or fresh peas, the first must first be defrosted. What you need:

  • peas - 1 kg;
  • salad - 500 g;
  • cream cheese (soft) - 2 tbsp. spoons;
  • butter - 3 tbsp. spoons;
  • ground white pepper, lemon peel, salt.

Butter must be melted on low heat in a saucepan, then we put the chopped lettuce into it and warm it up for 5 minutes. Then add green peas to the oil and simmer it for about 15 minutes, while stirring constantly.

Then we add four glasses of water, we unscrew the fire on the middle one, let it boil, then simmer another 25 minutes. Give the resulting mass to cool slightly, and then purée it with a blender. Again, we warm up a little, while not forgetting to stir, add salt and pepper, serve to the table along with cream cheese.

Salad of canned peas and mushrooms

To prepare you will need:

  • peas - 100 g;
  • sour cream - 80 g;
  • marinated champignons - 300 g;
  • green onions - 100 g;
  • eggs - 2 pcs .;
  • dill.

Boil eggs before boiling, cool and peel off the shell. Then cut them into small cubes, combine with chopped green onions and mushrooms, which must be cut into fairly large slices.

Pour the liquid from the peas, and then transfer it to the other ingredients, mix, add sour cream and spices to taste. To serve to the table, garnished with dill.

The recipe for a delicious side dish of rice and peas

To prepare you will need:

  • peas - 500 g;
  • rice - 2 glasses;
  • butter - 1 tbsp. a spoon;
  • nutmeg, salt.

Boil the peas to a state of readiness, and then throws back on a sieve. In a cauldron, melt the butter, lightly fry the washed rice on it, and then, stirring, pour it with 4 cups of water, salt it, and then cook until ready. After we add the peas to the prepared rice and fill with nutmeg.
