Installing a baseboard

Installing the Floor Plinth
When people are going to change their flooring, they usually only think directly about the future installation of a parquet or linoleum flooring and only at the last moment recall the existence of such an important attribute as a plinth. The plinth should not only be extremely practical and compact, but at the same time absolutely harmonize with the overall interior of your home. To begin with, you need to decide which plinth you need for repairs. There are several types: plastic, profile, wooden and MDF plinth. Each of them has its pros and cons, therefore, prudently planning and measuring everything, select the product in the store that will fully meet your requirements. Wooden baseboard gives a unique potential for flying design ideas.Having bought it, and then having processed with abrasives and a primer, you will be able to paint it without problems in that color which you want to see. Well, if you do not like it, then you can always buy ready-made and decorated slats in the store. When installing this type of plinth, use a miter box, it will help you more accurately and quickly trim the joints at the corners and in the length, which will considerably facilitate your work. Wooden plinths are usually fastened with nails or screws, and their heads are correctly masked with special putty or small corks. Also, a good option would be to use the so-called “liquid nails” - special construction glue. • Plastic plastic baseboards, in addition to their amazing flexibility, are also distinguished by the fact that, due to the presence of plugs and corners, when installing them no joints are required. The most simple and quick installation material is the profile plinth. It is installed both on the wall and on the floor using special slot holes or clamps. As for the MDF plinth, due to the specific manufacturing technology (pressed sawdust covered with paper) it does not have high performance characteristics. But with all this, it has advantages in itself from both the wooden plinth and the plastic at the same time. After all, having a fairly high flexibility, it can be installed both on glue and on latches.
