Emily Blunt stars in the title role of the new sequel,Mary Poppins Returns, which follows Poppins' return to London after 25 years, where she is reunited with Janet and Michael Banks. Along with Blunt, Lin Manuel-Miranda stars as street lamplighter Jack. Michael and Jane are played by Ben Whishaw andEmily Mortimer, respectively. Colin Firth also stars as Fidelity Fiduciary Bank owner William Weatherall Wilkins. Dick Van Dyke returns as Mr. Dawes Jr. Meryl Streep is also joining the cast as Poppins' cousin, named Topsy.
In the trailer, one of the new Banks children is seen flying a kite, and runs into trouble when a storm rolls in, prompting Jack to rush in to try and help him. But real help arrives in the form of Mary Poppins, who arrives in the nick of time on the tail of a kite. Though Blunt is only seen flying for a brief moment, she makes another appearance at the end of the teaser, looking at herself in the mirror and then moving away – as her reflection stays in place.
This is only the first teaser trailer for the film; there will certainly be more, and they will be definitely worth the wait.
